Hello and thank you for choosing the Creatr HS for your printing needs.

When you notice that your HS is printing in the air please make sure you check the following:

    1.First stop the printer and check the spools of filament and see if the filament broke. If the filament is intact take the spool out and see if because of the winding the filament is curled in the tube or there is a overlap of filament on the spool.

TIP: when the filament spool is new in order to avoid any overlaps of the filament you can place the filament spool in front of the printer like you can see in the picture below.

    2. Another option is that the pressure on the filament is to much or not enough and the filament slips in between the drive gear and bearing. To adjust the pressure please use the knob from the drive unit and put more or less pressure on the filament depending on the case;

Also please have a look at how the filament looks in the drive unit. It should be straight in the drive gear like in the picture below;

    3.If the filament is ok check and see if the extruder is clogged. To do this command the printer to extrude between 50-70 mm of filament and see if the extrusion is constant. If no filament comes out please follow this link and see how to unclogg the extruders.

    4.Also if the material extruded is unusually thin take the nozzles off, extrude around 40-50 mm of material without the nozzles and see if the extrusion is proper.Once the extrusion is done if the filament size is constant then the nozzles are clogged and they need replacing.

To avoid clogged extruders in the future please follow the link and see how to properly clean your extruder and nozzles.
