Hello and thank you for choosing the Creatr HS for your printing needs.

If one of your Y stepper motor is not working we would ask you to check the following:

Tools:

-a number 2 Allen key;

-a number 3 Allen key;

-a number 4 Allen key;

-a number 5 Allen key.

TIP: An easy way to see which motor does not work is to use the Y home command this way the motors will be blocked for about a minute. When the command is executed gently press the X rods on the right and left far end and see which motor is not blocking the assembly.

    First turn of the printer, remove the side panel using a number 2 Allen key. and the interior cover-plate for which you will need a number 5 and number 3 Allen key to gain access to the motherboard and check the connections for the Y stepper motors. As you can see in the picture the jumpers circled have to be mounted in that position in order for both Y stepper motors to function properly Pic.1.

Pic.1

    So the two jumpers connectors have to be mounted this way: The number 1 jumper on the first and second pin and the number 2 jumper on the second and third pins.

    Also make sure the connection that allows the motors to move in sync with each other is properly mounted(marked with number 3 in the picture).

    If the connections are ok the next step is to check the motors. For this you will have to remove the back panel of the printer and disconnect one motor at a time and use the Y jog control and see if one of the motors is not working:

- so disconnect the left Y stepper motor and use the jog control to move the right motor and then disconnect the right motor and connect the left (Pic.2);

Pic.2

    An easy way to check and see if the problem is the motor or the wires connecting the motherboard to the motor is to remove the stepper motor you unplugged and connect it to the wires of the other stepper motor which is working and see if that way it starts working, then you know the root cause is the motor or the wires.
