If you notice that the X stepper motor is no longer working properly and not moving the extruder carriage we ask that you follow the steps below in order to find the root cause:

1. Remove the side panels of the printer and the interior cover plate in order to expose the electronic board:

2. Now invert the X and Z stepper motor connectors on the motherboard:

3. Use the Z jog controls to move the X motor and see if the stepper motor still presents the same issue; If it does then it means the root cause is the stepper motor and the wire harness. In this case contact Leapfrog support through a ticket and we will help you out with the replacement parts;

Did the X stepper motor start to work properly? Then use the X jog controls and move the Z motor and see if the problem shifted from the X motor to the Z motor. If it did then the root cause is the motherboard, in which case again you will have to contact Leapfrog support through a ticket and we will help out with the replacement process of the motherboard;

If both motors work properly it may be that there was just a improper contact somewhere so reconnect the stepper motors back to their original place and test them out.
